I've always loved seeing what other people shoot with and use as gear. It's even more interesting the different results everyone can create from using the exact same products. Here's a quick list of everything I have in my camera bag. Camera, lenses, accessories and why I love using these specific items.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR Camera Body (One day I will upgrade) https://www.teds.com.au/canon-eos-5d-mark-ii
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens (Versatile lens)
This is an amazing lens to shoot with. I use it allot of the time as my general purpose lens because it works amazing for portraits, lifestlye as well as macros and wide shots. My favorite thing about it is how versatile it is. It is also great for weddings and functions! I use it for all my indoor portrait sessions, together with my ghintspeedlight and Speedybox 150cm Parabolic folding softbox speedlight studio. I have also recently invested in Visico studio lighting. (http://www.visico.com)
The 24 - 700 mm is a great walkabout lens for travel and ourdoor images. I use this lens when I go on holiday and for most of my lifestyle editorials.
Below are some of my images captured with this amazing lens.
I also shoot almost all my indoor studio work with my 24 - 70mm lens. This is with the use of studio lighting. I love studio portraits and the beautiful lighting it creates.
Another favorite send is the
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4L USM Lens
If I'm low on light or space, I love using the 50. Since I love using the 24 - 70mm for portraits I don't really use my 50 much unless I need to. It is light, compact prime lens (no zoom) I use this lens for "creative and free play". It creates wonderful depth of field when you shoot wide open! Great for getting creative!!!
I began my photography journey 8 years ago - and I still use this amazing lens for child portraits. It is beautiful, crisp and sharp and creates amazing looking images.
As I continued my photography journey I discovered the benefits of different lenses and what their capabilities are. After mastering my 50mm and 24 - 70mm it was time for the big baby!! I worked hard and saved my money and purchased the Sigma 70 - 200mm 2.8. I was hooked and never looked back! This is my go to lens for outdoor family and child portraits. It suites the style of image I like to create. It creates incredible sharp subjects with buttery blurry backgrounds.
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Lens
Zoom lenses are a ton of fun, especially when shooting outdoors and your don't want to be on-top of your clients!! Its great for children and capturing their creative play! I use this lens for portraits, weddings, parties, sports, and its a great lens for shooting wildlife (when I get to travel!)
Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash
I shoot mostly with natural light outdoors, but use this sometimes in my studio on a very overcast day or during wedding receptions when I have no more light to work with. My speedlight is used for my indoor Jewel portraits.
Bloom Theory Camera Straps (I have 3!!)
Jo Totes Camera Bags - Gracie Black and Missy Mint!
