Timeless school portraits that you will want to display in your home!
My goal is to create beautiful portraits that capture a child's unique personality and provide a positive experience for schools and families.
I am honored to have the opportunity to provide your school with Fine Art School Portraits. My goal is to provide a personalized experience to all the families who attend the schools who have chosen me to photograph their children.
WHAT ARE FINE ART SCHOOL PORTRAITS?
Fine art school portraits are a modern, unique take on the traditional school photo. Rather than themed or brightly colored backdrops, portraits are simple, classic and timeless. Children are photographed against a black or grey backdrop with portraits available in color as well as black and white. I provide a comfortable, fun experience during the session that encourages children to feel at ease and let their personality shine.
School portraits are a beautiful way to remember a specific stage of life for children. They should be displayed in our homes, proudly hung on the wall. Fine art school portraits remove busy and distracting backgrounds and instead focus on capturing the beauty of each child. These portraits are timeless and look absolutely stunning on the wall while complementing modern design.
I work directly with daycares, preschools, public and private schools as the school portrait photographer. Families are able to view their child's portraits in a gallery online prior to purchasing. Each child will have a gallery with a minimum of 3 images in color and black & white. I respect each child's unique personality and will never ask children to smile. However, some children will be eager to give me many different expressions; so for this reason, I provide a minimum number of images but some children will have a larger gallery. All ordering is done online through my site. Print packages as well as digital images are available for purchase. A digital class portrait is included free of charge with each order.
To simplify the process for schools, we handle all questions or concerns with families regarding fine art school portraits.
Upon booking, schools will receive an informational sheet with details for families; including tips for photo day, the ordering process, delivery of portraits and my contact information. I strive to keep the experience positive and as simple as possible for both the school and families.
We like to also give back to the school, and offer 10% of all orders going back directly to your school. Building strong community relationships whilst providing an honest unique service is our priority, and having fun seeing the children enjoy the experience is essential for all.
In addition to my child portrait services, I offer as a bonus to each school, 2 hours of my time to photograph the school and surroundings to update their website with beautiful images that represent their school and brand!
I am able to accommodate schools of varying sizes. If the school is larger, I will provide an assistant on photo day. Through my professional portrait process, I am able to provide the same services as large, corporate photographers but with a more personal, unique feel.
My rates are competitive with other school photographers but no payment is due on photo day. Once the online galleries are made available, parents can choose to purchase print images as well as digital files. Detailed costs for portraits are included in the information sheet provided to families once a school books my portrait services. A variety of purchase options are available including portrait collections, a la carte and digital downloads.
I coordinate with each school to determine when it works best for you to schedule fine art school portraits. At least 3 months notice is required to ensure we are available on your day of choice. As a mum, I can assure you that portraits make beautiful Mother's Day gifts or end of the year gifts to parents from schools.
Up to around 120 children can be managed in a single day. For schools with more students multiple days or sessions may be required (please contact me to discuss the size of your student roll).
About two weeks after our shoot, you'll receive an email with a link right back here to this page where I'll add all the details and access to your gallery. There will be a minimum of 3 (or more) images of every child both in black and white and color. You will then be able to order prints, gallery wraps, and digital downloads. The ordering process is simple and secure. The gallery will be live for just seven days so I can submit your selections and deliver them to your school for a quick turn around! See pricing here.
You and your child's privacy is very important to me. Your child's images will be organized on the private proofing website by class and you will receive a special password for your class. If you would like your child’s individual album to have a private password, please let me know by emailing me at email@example.com
No, I do not include parents in these portraits. In fact, I find it's much easier to capture an authentic portrait when parents are not even in the child's line of sight! However if there are siblings at the school together I do take sibling portraits. For information about my family sessions check out this page instead.
Can you tell me a little about the process? I photograph all the portraits myself and let my online digital system take care of ordering and processing payments. I minimally interrupt classroom schedules and provide a unique product to your families. I usually bring an assistant to help me with organising the children and getting them ready for their photos.
What do you need from the centre? I will need just a few things from you, including classroom rosters, daily classroom schedules, and a list of any special instructions or sensitive information you think may be pertinent. We draft up an email that we recommend the school send to the parents, notifying them of the details and preparations for photo day. Also, we can provide an advert to insert into the school newsletter or website. If additional items pop up along the way, I will be sure to communicate those needs with you.
Where do you take the photographs? I usually shoot indoors in a classroom with a large window. Alternatively I bring along a consistent light (ie no flash). A veranda or any fully shaded outdoor area can also work for child portraits. The exact location will be discussed and agreed upon at the first meting at the centre.
Do you have insurance? Yes. I have public liability insurance. I am happy to provide proof of insurance upon request as well as a Working with children check (blue card).
How do parents pay you? My entire system is hosted online. Proofs are released for viewing through an online link, and all orders and payments are processed online. The centre does not have to worry about printed proofs, order forms, or handling/processing money. My online system takes care of everything.
How long does the whole process take? After photo shoot day, it will take approximately 2 weeks before proofs are released to the parents. The order deadline will be listed for 2 weeks after proof release. Digital orders are an instant download after purchase, whereas print orders will be delivered approximately 4 weeks after orders close. We will deliver all of the products to the centre, unless the parents note otherwise on the order form.
Do parents have to participate? Participation is not required. I generally photograph every child at your centre, and provide proofs for each child I photograph. Proofs will be provided digitally and because of this your teachers will not have to worry about collecting un-purchased proofs or order forms. If parents do not want their child to participate, you will need to notify us prior to shoot day.
